Care Net of Carbon County is a 501(c)3 organization that is fully funded by private donations from individuals and churches. We receive no government monies, because we take an unapologetic stand to share the Word of God.
With the exception of our director and administrative assistant, all of our staff are volunteers. We have approximately 35 volunteers, including three peer counselors. Due to the recent growth we have experienced, we prefer that clients make an appointment but anyone is welcome to walk in at any time. On an average week we will see 25 to 30 clients, while still having a waiting list. In addition to our daily appointments, there are many groups that meet on a regular basis during the week. We offer all these services and every one of them is free and confidential to anyone.
In our county, we have many “at-risk” young people, who don’t have positive role models or haven’t been taught life skills. Care Net is filling a definite void. We offer many different educational programs providing accurate information on pregnancy, fetal development, the options associated with pregnancy, single parenting, the effects of adoption or abortion, life skills, relationship issues, as well as much more. We also offer some tangible assistance such as free pregnancy test, maternity and baby clothing, baby furniture, diapers and formula.
Young people are drawn to our center during a personal problem in their lives. We love “Gen Y” and address their issues. In our sessions we can talk about problems or watch a DVD where the experts share the real deal about love, sex, relationships, and STD’s. We are free to share the love and mercy of Christ and combine Christian principles with proven healthy programs. We see the impact these sessions have on our clients as they experience our unconditional love for them, while learning to value themselves and form healthy relationships. Their lives and legacies are at stake.
We believe strong families are the backbone of our community and country, the disintegration of the family causes many of our social ills, costing many taxpayer dollars for state and county services. The more successful we are the less of a demand there should be on government funded social programs. Even though we are a small organization, we believe we have an important mission that will lessen the burden on our community and taxpayers, as we help to strengthen marriages and families. Because of God’s presence and hand at Care Net we are a lifeline that produces positive results.
